CLASS 3A STATE SCHOLAR’S BOWL TOURNAMENT
2010, CIMARRON HIGH SCHOOL
Date: Saturday, February 13, 2010
Site: Cimarron High School
Tourn. Director: David Ediger, CAA 620-855-3393. dediger@cimarronschools.net
Teams: Two pools of 6 teams. Each pool, by lot, has 12 first place winners
from Regional competitions. Second place winners were placed in the opposite
pool away from their first place winners.
Rooms: We will have 6 rooms of competition.
Review Panel: We will draw the names of 5 coaches to serve on the panel.
Three will be on the panel and 2 will be alternates.
Buzzer Systems: We will provide all buzzer systems for the tournament.
Forfeits: If a school should be late in reporting for a contest round during
the
competition, the forfeit will be handled in this manner: the team
against whom the forfeiting school was to compete will enter and participate
in the round without an opponent. This will give the team an opportunity
to score points for that competition. In the event of a tie, the team will
have earned points to compute for a final total.
Captains: Captains need to be sure to sign the score sheet at the end of
each
round.
Awards: Trophies will be presented to 1st – 3rd place teams. Medals will
be
presented to 1st – 4th place teams.
Shirts: We will be selling state championship T-shirts at this meet. Short
sleeve shirts are $14 ($15 for XXL) and long sleeve shirts are $16 ($17
XXL). I would suggest having your students purchase these when
they first arrive.
Programs: We will be putting together a nice souvenir program. We will give
each team enough for the coaches and participants listed.
Hospitality: We will have a hospitality room for all administrators, workers
and
coaches. We will provide a “goodie” bag for all participants when they arrive.
Concessions: There will be a concession stand open during the competition.
Forms: SB-3 needs to be to me no later than Feb. 8. Also, please fill out
a TRA
form and send it with your SB-3. Both can be found on the KSHSAA
website.
Hotels/Eating: You will need to stay in Dodge City or Garden City if you
are staying
overnight. Please see the attached information from those cities.
Website: Please visit www.cimarronschools.net for information, including
a
map of Cimarron, for the state meet. It should be up by Feb. 5 and will have
updated information as it comes in.
Please consult the scholar’s bowl manual so you are prepared for the day. Good sportsmanship is expected by all competitors, coaches and spectators. All times on the rounds are approximate. All rooms will begin at the same time as everyone will be competing each round since we are using 6 rooms.
