A Message from Principal Rocky Stewart

Inserted Image  Rocky Stewart, elementary principal

Cimarron Elementary School, located in Cimarron, Kansas, serves
grades Pre-kindergarten through 6. Our September 20th enrollment
number for the 2016-2017 school year was 380 students.

Cimarron Elementary is proud of the academic excellence it has
demonstrated over a long period of time. We look forward to moving
ahead with the rigorous standards that are now in place, and continuing
to show growth as we enter into Kansas’s new accreditation system,
KESA (Kansas Education Systems Accreditation).

We strive every day to provide an environment which encourages physical
activity and fosters development of a positive self-image and success in
academics and the arts. We offer physical education and music classes
every day for our Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Band classes
are available for 5th and 6th grades.

The USD #102 Board of Education is dedicated to keeping our class
sizes small. During the 2017-2018 school year, we expect a large majority
of our classes will be under 20 or fewer students.

We will be entering the fourth year of having all of our 4th-6th grade
classes, the ESL class and PE located in the new addition. The new
facility allows us to have our Migrant, Head Start and 4-year-old
kinderprep classes on campus.

  • Our pre-school programs include a pre-kindergarten classroom
with two half day sessions (serving up to 40 students),
Migrant
    pre-school and Head Start programs.
  • This is our third year of full day kindergarten and we are extremely
    pleased with the results.
  • USD #102 is a member of the Southwest Kansas Area Cooperative
District. The cooperative provides us with our Special Education staff:
two full-time resource room teachers, school psychologist, speech
pathologist and access to physical and occupational therapy and vision

and hearing specialists.
    • CES provides a large library with full-time librarian.
    • CES provides a full-time elementary counselor, Title I
      Reading teacher and ESL teacher.
