A Message from Principal Rocky Stewart

Cimarron Elementary School, located in Cimarron, Kansas, serves
grades Pre-kindergarten through 6th. Our September 20th enrollment
number for the 2018-2019 school year was 376 students.

Cimarron Elementary is proud of the academic excellence it has
demonstrated over a long period of time. We look forward to moving
ahead with the rigorous standards that are now in place, and continuing
to show growth.

We will be entering our 4th year of the 5 year cycle of Kansas’s new accreditation system,
KESA (Kansas Education Systems Accreditation).

We strive every day to provide an environment which encourages physical
activity and fosters development of a positive self-image and success in
academics and the arts. We offer physical education and music classes
every day for our Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Band classes
are available for 5th and 6th grades.

The USD #102 Board of Education is dedicated to keeping our class
sizes small. This year, most if not all, of
our classes will be under 20 students.

We will be entering the fifth year of having all of our 4th-6th grade
classes, the ESL class and PE located in our 2014 building addition. The new
facility allows us to have all of our preschool classrooms on campus.

We also will have completed by the beginning of the school year our kitchen renovation.

The older part of the building has also had new plumbing throughout.

  • Our pre-school programs include a Kansas Four Year Old classroom
with two half day sessions (serving up to 40 students),
pre-school and an Integrated Preschool classroom.
  • We continue with full day kindergarten and are pleased with the results.
  • USD #102 is a member of the Southwest Kansas Area Cooperative
District. The cooperative provides us with our Special Education staff:
Two full-time resource room teachers, school psychologist, speech
pathologist, gifted teacher, and access to physical and occupational therapy and vision
and hearing specialists.
    • CES provides a large library with full-time librarian.
    • CES provides a full-time elementary counselor, Title I
      Reading teacher and ESL teacher.
