Dear Students, Parents, and Faculty,
We are overjoyed to announce that USD 102 has achieved the high distinction in the Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) Star Recognition program by earning not one, but three stars! This remarkable achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in education and community engagement.
Our first star, a Gold Star, shines brightly as we have surpassed a graduation rate exceeding 95%. This accomplishment is a testament to our dedication to ensuring every student reaches their full potential and walks across the stage with a diploma in hand.
The Silver Star acknowledges our commitment to higher education and career readiness. With 60-69% of our former students completing associate's degrees, trade school certificates, or returning for a third year of college or university, we are equipping them with the tools they need for a successful future.
Lastly, the Bronze Star for Civic Engagement celebrates our dedication to fostering responsible, engaged citizens. We are proud of the social responsibility instilled in our students, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, parents, faculty, and staff. Together, we have achieved excellence in education, and these three stars symbolize our shared success.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the future of our students.
Sincerely,
Mike Waters
Superintendent of USD 102
